News & blogs A new chapter for our sports pavilion In recent years, the Enham sports pavilion has sadly stood silent, with its doors closed as the facilities fell into disrepair. But 2025 marked a turning point. Thanks to the incredible support of our community, we’ve been working hard to breathe new life into this space. In July last year, we were approached by Kick Out the Stigma, a local adult non-league football team centred around mental health and wellbeing. They had been renting a pitch in our sports field and expressed their interest to support getting the pavilion back open again. And so, with passionate individuals and generous organisations donating their time, materials, and expertise to make it happen, together, we’re turning a forgotten facility into a vibrant hub for sporting activities once again. Our ultimate long-term vision is to see a potentially larger and fully accessible pavilion - a dream we’re excited to make a reality in the future. While that goal is still some years away, the current space already holds incredible potential. With some interim improvements and a little TLC, it’s becoming a welcoming facility for local sports teams to hire, while also creating an additional income stream for Enham Trust to support disabled people to live, work, and enjoy life. As part of our ongoing efforts to make the Enham community more accessible, we also plan to use the space to host sporting activities as part of our Choices Activities Programme, which provides disabled people with opportunities to socialise, keep active and explore new interests. During the works so far, we have been working with Kick Out the Stigma and Baltic Youth FC to gather volunteers and materials to help renovate the current sports pavilion to a suitable standard. Pavilion ‘before’ photos We want to extend a huge thank you to everyone who has supported the project to this point: Enham Trust Estates team, who have supported with some of the outside structural work, such as removing the rotten porch. Our Aster Group colleagues, who have carried out water and electrical compliance works and replaced the main and side doors. Brewers, for providing paint supplies. KJM Group, who replaced 12 old wooden windows with new pvc double glazed units. Andover Skip Hire, for providing 2 skips. Groundlord Ltd, who carried out essential tree works behind the pavilion, which has helped to resolve damp issues and make the building safer for the future. DSP Construction Services Ltd for replacing and rehanging of one of the changing room ceilings. AC Roofing who cleaned the roof and gutters. Groups of volunteers from Vodafone, who have spent their Corporate Volunteering Days with us to support with various painting work. A massive shout out and thank you also goes to Mike Ford from Kick Out the Stigma, who has been instrumental in securing various materials and services for the project. His family and friends have also shown their support through donations of miscellaneous items, such as boot scrubs and signs, along with new tactical boards. As we prepare to open the pavilion facilities for hire from the end of January, our focus now turns towards making the facilities accessible for disabled people, because everyone deserves to enjoy the outdoors. Right now, the pavilion’s toilet facilities aren’t accessible for disabled people, which means some of our beneficiaries can’t fully experience the sports fields we’re working so hard to provide to the community. We want to change that - and we need your help. We’re looking for a portable toilet company who would be willing to donate a disabled access toilet for our building, so that everyone can feel welcome, comfortable and included in this space. If donating isn’t possible, we would be incredibly grateful to receive sponsorship in the region of £3,500-4,000 to cover the cost of purchasing a toilet instead. In addition, we’re hoping to transform our kitchen area into a more functional and inviting space by installing new cabinets. Any support through donations of materials, or installation services will make a huge difference. Can you help us, or know someone who can?
