On 27th April 2025, 13 amazing people will be running the London Marathon for Enham Trust. They each have their own unique story and connection to Enham, which is their driving force towards supporting disabled people to live, work and enjoy life.

Running the London Marathon is a huge challenge and commitment. Our runners have not only been working incredibly hard with their intense training preparations, but they have also invested so much time and dedication to raise vital funds towards transforming the lives of thousands of disabled people supported by Enham Trust.

With the big day fast approaching, we caught up with our runners to find out how they’ve been getting on with their training and hear what running the London Marathon for Enham Trust means to them.

Paul has longed to run the London Marathon for years and felt running for Enham was the perfect fit.

“I’ve tried for over a decade to run the London Marathon but I’ve never made it through the ballot. So when I heard that Enham Trust had a team and then a spare space, it made sense to me to run for a charity that I know and care about.”

After finding out about Enham Trust and the work that we do, Charlie couldn’t wait to sign up and run the London Marathon for us.

“A good friend of mine was working for Enham Trust and knew I was interested in doing the marathon, so suggested I look into supporting them as part of running the London Marathon. After looking into the charity and the great work that they do, I was super excited about the idea and signed up as quickly as I could!”

Sarah and Mia are a mother-daughter team, taking on the distance together.

“We can’t lie – the training has felt pretty brutal! Neither of us are “accomplished” runners and so the long runs have filled us with dread, but knowing that the miles are converting to pounds has kept us going, and dare we say it; even somewhat enjoying the runs!”

When we’ve been hitting “the wall”, we remind ourselves that what we’re doing will not only be a fantastic experience for us to share together but will also be making a huge contribution to continuing the amazing work that the Trust does everyday.”

Niamh has been a long-standing supporter of Enham Trust. Having ran the London Marathon for us 10 years ago, this year she’s back to do it all over again!

“This time around, it’s not just about crossing the finish line – it’s about pushing myself to feel stronger, fitter and healthier as I get older. Running a marathon is no small task, but knowing I’m doing it for such an incredible charity makes it all the more worthwhile. Enham does amazing work helping disabled people live more independently and I’m proud to support them once again.”

Power couple Ella and Sam are proud to be supporting Enham and the work we do in their local community.

“There are so many great charities out there who all do vital work, but the opportunity to complete this challenge for a local one makes it feel even better.”

Exercise science professional Linda is passionate about promoting physical activity and well-being for everyone, regardless of their abilities.

“Enham Trust’s mission to help people with disabilities live more independently and their adaptive sports programs resonate strongly with me. This made Enham Trust the perfect organization to support in my final marathon of the World Major Marathon series.”

Jade feels all the emotions knowing that running the London Marathon for Enham Trust will make a huge difference to individuals with disabilities.

“Inspiring, collaborative, motivated to challenge myself for the benefit of others and to see the difference and impact it has on others is amazing. I feel very lucky to have got a place to fundraise for such a brilliant charity.”

Samanta is inspired to raise awareness of Enham Trust to help more disabled people live their best lives.

“I hope it brings more light to the organization so that more help can be provided and all individuals are supported.”
